Hey Loves!
This last summer I made a road trip through some of the southeastern states starting in Nashville and finishing in Miami. I was very excited about it because I had never been to any of those places before. However, every time I shared the news with someone, they made an odd face and said something similar to:
“Good luck, eating vegan down there!”
The funny thing is that I never thought about it when preparing the trip! And I have to say I think it went quite well! So I am going to share some of the tips and spots I found just in case you find yourself lost in any of these beautiful places!
Nashville
This was our first stop.

It is one of the most energetic, vivid, and vibrant places I have ever visited! I rapidly felt trapped in their vibes. Music everywhere, people partying non-stop, groups singing in every Honky-tonk! I wasn’t surprised when I heard that it was the first destination for bachelorette parties and the second one, after Vegas, for bachelor parties in the country! I highly recommend the experience of going from Honky-tonk to Honky-tonk along Broadway listening to different groups and savoring different local beers or whiskeys if you prefer! It’s easy to find in almost any of these bars vegan starters to share. For sure, It won’t be the healthiest meal of your life, but I think the experience is worth it.
The Gulch
Not far from the city center, there is an arising neighborhood: the Gulch. This was an old industrial area that is now full of fancy clothes shops, cafes, restaurants, and murals. It’s incredible seeing how people wait in a long queue for a picture at the Wings mural painted by Kelsey Montague. Or at the latest it restaurant for brunch around every corner. The Gulch is a great place to get lost through the streets and look around for hidden treasures. You can find jewels as Carter Vintage Guitars or The Nashville Boot Co. if you are looking for real cowboy’s boots!
While walking around, I ended up at The Tennessee Brew Works, a local brewery. They have a taproom on the second floor from where you can see how the beer is brewed. Their menu has a couple of vegan options like the Impossible Veggie Five Beer Burger, which I can say was delicious!
12 South
Slightly south from The Gulch, you will find this cute residential neighborhood. The main street, 12 Avenue South, is packed with charming shops, coffees, and restaurants. If you are craving a vegan doughnut, stop by the vivid Five Daughters Bakery. Looking for some green smoothie? Make a stop at the healthy Franklin Juice Company. Thirsty? The 12 South Taproom has plenty of local beer choices along with delicious vegan dishes!
And what about the shops? I felt in love with the local shop Imogen + Willie. They are so local that they even produce their clothes in their back shop! Also, a couple of blocks south, you can spot the adorable Draper James. Reese Witherspoon’s south charming boutique that will welcome you with iced sweet tea at the door. Perfect for hot summer days!
But the jewel of this area is without a doubt the 1501 Linden Manor B&B. I highly recommend it for your Nashville stay! Situated in a beautiful house within the residential sector is nearby every exciting site in Nashville but without being in the crowded center! Their best asset is the chef and Innkeeper, Peigi. She took care of every detail, making sure that the stay was as perfect as it could be, including a special breakfast for vegan guests! Even better than at home!
I am a Nashville believer, what about you?
Love,
Sanza.
